Artist Info

In June, 2005 while vacationing in Saugatuck, MI., I visited 2 art galleries and discovered Art Quilting. Inspired, I bought some fabric, pulled out my dusty $80 Kenmore and began creating my own collages in fabric.

Since then, I’ve upgraded my sewing machine twice, met some incredible fabric artists and learned lots of things about sewing, quilting, dyeing fabric, Photoshop Elements and my own creative process.

In 2007, I had the honor of a solo exhibit at the Sharon Weiss Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. My pieces were selected for the 2008 and 2009 Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit and were also chosen by the “Best of 2009” Ohio Designer Craftsmen and 2009 Sacred Threads. June 2010 I have my second solo exhibit scheduled at the Sharon Weiss Gallery. My works have also been purchased by individuals for their private collection.

Subject matter for my pieces range from whimsical to landscape to spiritual abstractions. Places, people, canines and actual or imagined scenarios provide me my inspiration.

My work incorporates fabric dyeing, painting, hand and machine stitching, beading and collage. I like to experiment with new ways of combining process and technique.

Realizing that Art Quilting is basically “no rules” adventure in creativity has been artistically liberating for me. The endless possibilities make it a never-ending adventure.
